On-chain analytics for Core BlockchainAll times in UTC · data refreshes automatically

Methodology

Every metric is derived from canonical on-chain data (blocks, transactions, receipts, logs, token transfers). All periods use UTC; daily buckets are UTC dates.

Network Metrics

MetricDefinitionSource
TransactionsNumber of confirmed transactions included in blocks within the period.transactions
Successful TransactionsConfirmed transactions whose receipt status is success (0x1).transactions.status
Failed TransactionsConfirmed transactions whose receipt status is failure (0x0, VM-level failure). Pre-check rejections never enter a block.transactions.status
Active AddressesUnique addresses participating (as sender ∪ receiver) in at least one successful confirmed transaction within the period. Each address is counted at most once.
unique(successful_tx.from ∪ successful_tx.to)
transactions
Active SendersUnique sender addresses of successful confirmed transactions.
unique(successful_tx.from)
transactions
Active ReceiversUnique receiver addresses of successful confirmed transactions. Contract creation has no receiver.
unique(successful_tx.to)
transactions
New AddressesAddresses whose first observed successful on-chain activity occurs within the period (first observed activity, not wallet creation).analytics_address.first_seen_block
New Funded AddressesAddresses receiving a positive XCB transfer for the first time within the period.analytics_address.first_funded_block
Returning AddressesActive addresses that were first observed before the period (active − new).
active_addresses − new_addresses
derived
Contract DeploymentsConfirmed transactions that create a contract (to_address IS NULL).transactions
Contract CallsDistinct transactions that produced at least one event log (proxy for contract interaction).logs
Event CountTotal event logs emitted within the period.logs
Token TransfersTotal token transfer events within the period.token_transfers_v2
Total FeesSum of energy_used × energy_price over all transactions, in wei. XCB uses "energy" (not gas). energy_used is what the receipt reports as consumed; the energy field on a transaction is only the limit the sender declared.
Σ(energy_used × energy_price)
transactions
Energy UsedSum of energy actually consumed by all transactions, taken from the receipts.
Σ(energy_used)
transactions

Token Metrics

MetricDefinitionSource
HoldersDistinct addresses with a positive token balance (snapshot).token_balances_v2
TransfersTotal token transfer events within the period.token_transfers_v2
Transfer VolumeSum of token transfer amounts within the period (raw units).token_transfers_v2
Total SupplyDeclared supply from the token registry, falling back to the sum of positive balances.token_registry.total_supply
Mint AmountTokens transferred from the zero address within the period.token_transfers_v2 (from = zero)
Burn AmountTokens transferred to the zero address within the period.token_transfers_v2 (to = zero)

Whale Classification (supply-relative)

Whales are classified by ownership ratio against total supply (CIP-XXX §8). Absolute thresholds are provided as an optional reference (analytics thresholds, not protocol parameters).

ClassRelative (default)Absolute (reference)
Whale≥ 0.10% of total supply≥ 100,000 XCB
Mega Whale≥ 1.00% of total supply≥ 1,000,000 XCB
Super Whale≥ 5.00% of total supply—

Whale Supply Concentration = Σ(whale balances) / total_supply.

Supply Methodology

Total Supply is the declared supply from the token registry (token_registry.total_supply), falling back to the sum of positive balances. For native XCB it is the sum of positive balances from the materialized view.

Circulating Supply is not yet available — it requires a reliable burn/system-address classification. Where unavailable, the value is omitted rather than estimated (no invented data).

Share of a holder = balance / total_supply, clamped to [0,1] (known artifact: untracked initial mints can produce negative balances elsewhere).

Limitations

  • Address count is not user count — one user may control many addresses, and custodial/exchange addresses represent many users.
  • Whale address count is not whale entity count.
  • “New address” means first observed activity, not wallet creation (historical completeness assumed).
  • “Contract calls” approximates contract interaction as transactions emitting logs; interactions without events are not counted.
  • Failed-transaction metrics depend on receipt status (backfill in progress).
